Dr. Mark Chariker

Dr. Chariker has extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery that he brings to his plastic surgery practice. His training in microsurgery also provides him with an added component for reconstructive surgery in both the adult and pediatric population. Dr. Chariker received his plastic surgery training at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Chariker's background in reconstructive surgery has provided him with an essential understanding of the cosmetic patient. He believes that a short-sighted approach to many cosmetic problems leads to an incorrect solution. He has extensive experience in both facial and general cosmetic surgery.
He is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and board certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a candidate for the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He was the director for hand surgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA before moving to Louisville as the Director of Craniofacial Surgery.
He is the surgical director for Operation Hope, which is a project that performs corrective surgery for patients with craniofacial anomalies predominantly in the Philippines.
